Thanks for the note about the Davidson reunion in Troup County, GA. My Davidson family lived in Muscogee County just south of LaGrange, GA in the middle part of the 19th century. I will try to see if there might be some connection. I can firmly say my Davidson ancestor was not even bordering on "prominent" but could be related. My John E. Davidson (1820-1918) could not read or write and his first employment was worker in a cotton mill. Following the Civil War he moved to Grant, AL and worked as a farmer.
