James Robert Cooper b. 1852-1855 d. 1928 m. MaryEtta Gillett (daughter of Joshua Jackson Gillett and Malinda Morgan) abt 1875. They had a daughter Malinda Jane b. 7 Mar 1876 and a son Robert b. 16 Mar 1878 with 7 more children born later. The 1870 Federal census of Lafayette Co., Fl shows a Robert M. Cooper married to Nancy (Horton) Cooper with 4 children all too old to belong to Nancy. They are James 16, Joesph 13, illegible dau Ilmerith/Meriath and dau Sara. POB of Robert and his children is ALA. There is also a George Cooper at this time with a son James Robert b. 1852 and I am trying to determine which is mine. Anyone also searching these Coopers and have any information they would share I would really appreciate it.
