Taylors in Holmes County

Anyone out there have any information on Taylor family in Holmes County? In particular James Taylor who married Margaret Keegan c. 1897-98. They had at least 4 children: Lafayette (male, Feb 1898), Monroe (male), Agnes and Lula. Lula may have married Quincy Pace in Santa Rosa County in 1930. Agnes may have married Herman Johnson in 1922 also in Florida.

Margaret and James appear in 1900 census living in Matthews Mill, Holmes County, with their first child, Lafayette. There was a land patent issued (7 Sep. 1900) to Margaret G. Taylor, formerly Margaret Keegan, under the Homstead Act of 1862 for 39.87 acres of land in Holmes County.

They do not appear again until 1920 census living in Santa Rosa County (Robinson or Milton) with the 4 children. This time James is listed as J. W. with the words "No Name" written next to the initials.

Nothing has been found in the 1930 census on any member of the family. However, I do know they were somewhere in Florida because, in a story related to me by her niece (and my cousin), "Aunt Maggie" (Margaret) and her daughter Agnes came from "down south" to visit her brother in Westville in the late 30's or early 40's. Margaret died before 1950, possibly in Pensacola.

Thank you for any information on this family.
