This is what I have learned so far in my researches on the French family.

Richard French is reported to have been married twice, see notes on census below. I know that he is buried beside Mary Elizabeth French in the Winterville Cem. in Holmes Co.Fl.

1) Elizabeth Dyson

(NOTE: Elizabeth Dyson age 11 in household #179 of John C.and Nancy Chapman of SC. on 1870 Holmes Co.Fl.-Miller P.O.)

1885 Holmes Co.Fl- Richard 26, Elizabeth 24, Paul 3 in h.h#181 living beside Paul French.

1900 Holmes Co.Fl-Hataways Mill h.h #561- Richard 40, Elizabeth 35,William 18, Paul 16, Joseph 12, Samuel 11, Henry 10, Rachel 8, Rebecca 6, Abraham G. 4, Martha 1.
(NOTE: Census states Married 20 years with 7/7 children.)

1910 Holmes Co.Fl-Hataways Mill h.h#160- Richard 50, Mary E. 45, Joseph 22, Samuel J.21, Henry 20, Rachel 18, Rebecca 15, Abraham 13, Martha 11, Susie 9, Jake 6, Ada 4, Tom 2 (William H.Harris 27-step son)
(NOTE: Both married twice, married 22 years with 11/11 children.)

1920 Holmes Co.Fl-Union 16 h.h.#66- Richard 60, Mary 55, Jake 16, Ada 14, Tom 12, Ruby Kryder(sp?) 5/grandaughter.

Richard French shown on Holmes Co.Fl land records index before 1908.

Paul P.French, Joseph T.French, Samuel J.French, Henry French are all shown on the men listed on 1917-18 Reg.Application for War.
