Wendy, I thought I recognized the name in your post and when I checked my records, sure enough, there was Gordon Needham Riley. Your Needham Riley appears to have been a Jr. though. G. N. Riley married my ancester Ann Tiller (nee Alexander). She migrated from South Carolina, via Alabama. She and her husband, William Tiller, had settled in Alabama, but after his death, she moved to Washington county with her sons. Her brother James remained in Henry County and is buried in the Center Methodist Cemetery near the Dale County line. Unfortunately, I do not know anything about G.N. Riley except that my mother's records had him listed as Ann's second husband. Ann was born around 1800 to John Alexander and Mary Woodham.
Good luck, Amy
