Donna,
Thanks for answering. Frank Hillyard Margison and my grandfather were brothers. My grandfather, Ivan Vance Margison b.1890, married Ina Starbuck in 1913 and moved with the whole Margison family to Albany. She was 6 months pregnant with my father, Ivan Starbuck Margison, when Ivan V was killed in a train accident in Albany in Nov 1916. Grandma moved to Indian Lake way up in the Adirondacks with her mother and sister and lived there for a few years, so my dad lost touch with his Margison family. It's taken me 5 years to connect the dots, and the dots keep growing!
Frank's parents wereWalter Margison 1867-1935 and Martha Churchill 1860 - 1940. Walter's parents were John Margison 1817-1872 and Elisabeth Haines 1828-1871. John's parents were Martin Margison 1794-1857 and Sarah Rightmeyer 1799-1871. I hit a brick wall with Martin's parents - Peter Margison b. abt 1760 and Catherine Roosa b. 1762. I think Peter's father was Peter Marjison b. 1717. He was a British loyalist during the Revolution living in the Albany/Saratoga area and was sent to a POW camp somewhere in CT when the war started. I can't find him after he was arrested.
Walter and Martha Margison had 4 children - Lewis William b. 1889, Ivan Vance, Marguerite Lee b.1893 and Frank. I think Frank was married before he married Mildred Thompson. I found a newspaper clipping announcing their wedding dated 23 Aug 1929, and a bridal shower notice for "Miss" Mildred Thompson. Helen Margison was born 1925 and James in 1926 so there must have been another marriage I can't find.
