I will try one more time.Don't know what is going wrong, however my grandmother was a Amanda Legette/Leggett and she was married to a John Shuster in 1888.She was born about 1870, she and John divorced in 1909. According to the divorce papers of which I personally saw in the VanBurencounty, Iowa court house she was having an affair with a Benjamin Gillespie.Whether she married Mr. Gillespie or not we do not know.Be that as it is, she ended up in Flordia, around the Tampa area and died in the 1940's.She did not have much contact with the family and/or her 5 children. It seems that she occasionlly wrote her daughter, but they all had such bad feeling towards her for leaving the family with the small children and under-standably so.She may have taken back the name Leggett or used the name Shuster later. Perhaps she married someone else other than Gillespie. We understand she did remarry later and could have perhaps had other children as she was only in her late 30's or early 40's when they divorced. I will try again to send this message and you may try to contact me at e-mail: [email protected] you would reply with a short message or any one else who this might fit into a family picture I would appreciate it.
