Frank,His draft card found on the Florida Memory Project, WWI Service Cards, shows a Tampa street address for him.Card also shows Summerville, S.C. as his birthplace and birthdate as Sept 1888.Draft date is shown as Aug 1918 on the card.
I recently interviewed step-granddaughter of Tish Ann Habbard who, living with Tish at the time, in Walton Co. FL, told me Otis Brown was the only relative's name she could remember for Tish; and, that she remembered because Otis came to visit them, he had come home from WWI.At the time, she thought he was from Freeport, FL (Walton Co near EucheeAnna).
I have a 3-inch binder of data on the family EXCEPT for Tish who, according to the family was 3/4 Creek Indian; some say she was a full-blood raised by the Henry Brown family.I can document her in 1900, 1910 and 1930 censuses.
I just want to find Tish for the same of my 87 yr old cousin who is her great-granddaughter.Tish's contemporaries are my 'brick wall' - I would so love to be able to find Tish's Brown relatives for my cousin.
