Daniel,
I am interested in your PEREZ family. My wife's paternal great-grandmother was Rosa PEREZ, born January 1878 in Cuba to Salumio and Luz (maiden name unknown) Perez. They were in Key West by 1880, and are on the 1880 Monroe County, FL census.
Rosa married Mateo Salgado, born 1873 in Key West. His parents were Jose Salgado and Rosario Pedrero. We have reason to believe Mateo may have died in Tampa, Hillsborough County, FloridaOR Key West between 1910 and 1940. Rosa died in Miami, Dade County, Florida in 1970. She was living with her daughter, Aida Salgado and son-in-law Armando Torano-Ortiz at the time of her death.
We do know that Armando's brother, Jose "Joe Torano (born 1898) lived in Tampa and died there about 1978 or so.
Are you, by chance, related to Salumio Perez or to other Perez's who were on the 1880 Key West, FL census for Monroe County?
Thanks,
Will Smith
