Jones/Goare or Gore, from GA-early 1900s-Tampa
In the early 1900s, before 1930, my grandfather's brother, Arch or Archie Jones, left Georgia to go to South Florida, possibly Miami, orpossibly Tampa, to take a job as a policeman, or maybe another law enforcement position. My grandfather died in 1930 and the family never heard from Archie again.I am trying to find his descendents, if any.An Arch Hunter Jones may have married Irene or Irena Jane "Chick" Goare or Gore, in Albany, Georgia in the early 1900s.Albany, Georgia is very near Stewart Co., GA, where Archie Jones was born.According to data submitted to the LDS FamilySearch website, and Irene Jane "Chick" Goare of Tampa, Hillsborough Co., was born in Stewart Co., GA, in 1876, to William Armistead Goare and Irena Jane Tatum Goare.
On the 1880 Census list on the LDS website is an Armsted Gore, wife Irma, and a daughter named Irma, age 4.I am thinking that this is the same family, but the names are spelled differently, for some reason. There are other children in the Gore family who seem to be the same Goares who also show up on the website. These Gores are on page 476A and my grandfather James Cornelius Jones and his brother Archie and their family are on page 475C, all in the Pataula District of Stewart Co. The parents of Archie Jones and my grandfather were Solomon and Patience Jones. They also lived in Albany, GA, at one time, where Arch Hunter Jones and Irene Jane "Chick" Goare were supposedly married.Too many coincidences!
If any one know anything about these people, I would appreciate any help and would very much like to hear from anyone who may be descended from or related to them.
Thank you.Beverly Jones Brock
