BARTOW -- Mrs. Frances Paige of Bartow died of heart failure Sunday (June 4, 2006) at Rohr Nursing Home in Bartow. She was 89.

Born in Hubbard, Texas, on

Jan. 21, 1917, she came to Bartow from Brooksville 13 years ago. She was a receptionist for the Boy Scouts of America, Gulf Ridge Council, in Tampa for eight years. She was a member of Scott Lake Baptist Church, Lakeland.

Mrs.Paige was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Paige. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Swartz, Bartow, Peggy Johnson, North Augusta, S.C.; son, Frank Paige, Broomfield, Colo.; brothers, Bill Wylie, Mexia, Texas, Lee Roy Wylie, Mansfield, Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Whidden-

McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Wauchula Cemetery.
