I am searching information on my grandfather John Hosea (Hosa) Givens. He may also have gone by the name of John J. Givens. He lived near Dothan Ala when he was married to my grandmother Melvina Sarah Creamer. She was married to Marion Messer until his death and then married John H. Givens. Together they had five children. Johnnie, Gerald, Cleve, Iree and Clote. Clote was my mother and the youngest of the kids. John H. left his family early 1920's and they never heard from him after that time. A few years later my grandmother, and her children moved to Tallahassee Florida. I would imagine that he remarried, although I do not know that for certain. He had a sister named Elizabeth. She married an Armstrong. He had a brother named Elijah, Elis(???). They lived near Florala Ala.
Any information would greatly appreciated.
