I am looking for information on Mary or Mary Elizabeth Redd who was suppose to be married to Silas M. Smith, Gadsden Co., Fl. He was my gr-grandfather and it just recently came to my knowledge that he might have been married once before he married my gr-grandmother Margaret Julia Gregory Smith. This makes sense as I have just found a marriage date for Silas and Margaret Julia of 1879 and if this is so she could not have been the mother of Silas's first 2 children, John and Mary. Does anyone have any info on these two people or the Redd family in Gadsden Co.? I would love to know how they met as Silas was born in S.C. and was Mary also? Did they come to Fl. together or was one of them already here and what happened to Mary? I know this is a lot to ask but if anyone could help me with dates and places and events I would so appreciative. I was surprised when this information reached me. Thank you so much in advance.
