Capt. J. (Joseph) B. (Benjamin) Vaughn’s Company B, Detachment Florida Calvary. This company subsequently became Company B, 3rd Battalion Florida Calvary. The 3rd was also known as Myer’s Battalion Florida Calvary and was organized about May 11, 1863, with three other companies, A to C. Company D was assigned somtime prioir to August 31, 1863. It was eventually consolidated with Murphy’s Battalion, Alabama Calvary, Captain Arrington’s and Barlow’s Companies, Alabama Calvary and Captain Smith’s Company, Florida Calvary, about September 1863, to form the 15th Regiment Confederate Calvary. This company becoming Company D of the regiment.
