I am seeking information re: Captain J. B. Vaughn of Escambia County, who served in the Civil War. He apparently raised his own company, which was first attached to Company B, 3d Battalion, Florida Cavalry, and later to Company D, 15th Regiment, Confederate Cavalry. He was married to Augusta Cooper in Escambia in December 1850. J.B. died in Escambia Co. August 1889. Benjamin Franklin Vaughn, also of Escambia, served with him, in "Vaughn's Company." He, too, was married to a Cooper -- Harriet J. (Josephine?) Cooper, Decemberf 28, 1853 in Escambia Co. Benj. F. died in Escambia January 25, 1873. And to confuse matters further, I have a Joseph Benjamin Vaughn married to Caroline A. Cooper -- who I believe was the daughter of Thomas Cooper, all of Escambia County during the same time period. This latter is my direct lineage. Who are all these people and how/are they related?
