Bertha (Marshall) Catlin of Jacksonville

Bertha (Marshall) Catlin was the daughter of Mary N. (Williams) Marshall. Mary was the daughter of George W. and Bertha Williams of Richmond VA. George was a Confederate Army artillery captain commanding the Buckner Battery during the Civil War. The battery employed "Williams guns", rapid fire cannons invented by George's father, David R. Williams from Covington KY.

1. Mary N. Williams, b Feb 1866 VA, m ca 1887 Samuel Williams MARSHALL, b Sep 1861. Children, all prob b in or near Richmond VA: Elizabeth Marshall b Mar 1888, Bertha D. Marshall b Jan 1890 m William CATLIN (children William Catlin Jr. and Sam Marshall Catlin), Louise M. Marshall b Aug 1891, Samuel W. Marshall Jr. b 25 Sep 1892, George Percy Marshall, b 19 Apr 1895 Richmond, Hester M. Marshall b Sep 1899, William Twyman Marshall b ca 1901, Thomas Marshall b ca 1904. Family was in Henrico Co VA 1900 and 1910, and in Jacksonville FL in 1920.

WILLIAM CATLIN, JR., was born 22 Aug 1914 in Richmond VA and died 27 Sep 2003 at the age of 89. His brother SAM MARSHALL CATLIN was born 10 May 1920 and died 9 Jun 2011. Both were of Jacksonville FL.
