Bertha (Marshall) Catlin was the daughter of Mary N. (Williams) Marshall. Mary was the daughter of George W. and Bertha Williams of Richmond VA. George was a Confederate Army artillery captain commanding the Buckner Battery during the Civil War. The battery employed "Williams guns", rapid fire cannons invented by George's father, David R. Williams from Covington KY.

Family was in Henrico Co VA 1900 and 1910, and in Jacksonville FL in 1920.
WILLIAM CATLIN, JR., was born 22 Aug 1914 in Richmond VA and died 27 Sep 2003 at the age of 89. His brother SAM MARSHALL CATLIN was born 10 May 1920 and died 9 Jun 2011. Both were of Jacksonville FL.
