Forresters of Clay Co
I am researching Cyrus Forrester (1776-before 1870) and his descendants (especially sons Lewis and George Elias). Cyrus bought his children and wife out of slavery sometime in the 1840's.They farmed in Magnolia Springs Florida (near present day Green Cove Springs)in Clay Co. They were the only free African Americans in the 1860 census of Clay co.I am looking for any information on him or any of his descendants. Others named Forrester also lived in neighboring Duval (Mandarin) and St Johns Co. I am looking for any information on any of these Forresters. One of son Lewis' daughters married into the Redmond family and some of Cyrus daughters married into the Miller, Hughes and Lewis familys. Any help would be appreciated.
