I just learned from my g-g/mother Alice Idonia [Smith] Crabb's obituary (Nov 1940) that her younger sister Lillian Doveye [SMITH] born 01 Oct 1877 (most likely in Ga/Al) was married to a J.W. WILKINS and in 1940 2g-Aunt Lillian was living in Cocoa, Florida (in Brevard Co or Cocoa Beach?). I don't have a clue (yet) as to why 2g-aunt Lillian moved to Florida or if any of her chn went to Fl with her. I know she had daughters Mrs Blanche Barrett and Mrs Elizabeth Crowley who owned a floral shop in Dalton, Whitfield Co Ga in the 1940's. Alice and Lillian were the youngest children of 11 chn born to James D. Smith and Mary Elizabeth [Shaw] who married in Elbert Co Ga 17 Nov 1850. I have the full names and full birthdates of the 11 chn from their father's Bible. My g-g/mother Alice married Charles White Crabb 14 Nov 1890 most likely in Polk or Floyd county Ga. Child #9, Arrovia [Smith] married T.R. Mullinax. Aunt Rovia died in Cedartown, Polk Co Ga 26 Mar 1952. Thus far, I have not found my SMITH 2g-g/parents or any of their chn on any Ga/Al census but I think this is where they would have been 1860-1880.... and I have only found great- g/mother Alice Idonia [Smith] Crabb & her family on the 1900 Jefferson Co Tx census. I know nothing more on any of the above named persons except for the descendants of my g-g/mother Alice and that she had a niece in Ga July 1939 named Mrs Corrie Carter. 2g-g/father James D. Smith (if still living?) would be shown on the 1880 Ga? Al? census with: wife Mary Elizabeth age 45, and probably unmarried chn: Susan Frances age 20, James Henry age 18, Mary Elizabeth age 14, John Gibson age 11, Tom Burton age 10, Arovia age 7, Alice age 05, Lillian age 02. .......this family has sure been a brick wall and I will be deeply grateful for any little tidbit you might share!!!
