Alexander Douglas was a witness on one of these records for my 4th great grandfather's son, Robert Black (plat dated 10 Jan 1805), for 1000 acres in Screven County, Georgia.
William Black, Rev. Sol., (1753-1826) m. Elizabeth Jane Tumberlin (b. 1755, d. Screven Co. GA)
Their children: Robert Black, b. May 1775, John J. Black, Sr., b. 1777, Ann Black, Jane Black, William W. Black, Jr.
My great, great, great grandfather was John J. Black, Sr., b. 1777. John Black named his 2nd son, Douglas Black (b. 1805). I believe these two families are related.
If anyone related to Alexander Douglass has information that might help, I would greatly appreciate it.
