So nice to hear from someone! My GGGG-GF was James b. 1811, d. 1881. married to Elizabeth Crews,My hand written notes from Gene Barber says " son of Jacob or Thomas? James' son John W. Altman b. 1847 m. Michel Davis (annie m. davis) b. 1849 are my GGG-GP Yes I knew of "that commonlaw marriage" & My GG-GM & GF probably are in that book too as I they were 1st cousins! So many Altmans', so many Davis'. I may be my own 5th cousin...LOL
Just had a great trip to Baker Co., Folkston And Waycross. Too quick tho we were going to Jekyll Island. But visited 5 Cemeterys and found and took pics of my family. Very nice cem and old cypress churches, thankfully they were not that large. Yes it had to rain, but that didn't stop me. I will post them when I figure out how. It was an experience I will treasure and look forward to going back! Very nice people:)
