I am searching for information on Gardners starting with Benjamin Gardner in NC who was a sea captain and died at sea sometime in the 1700's. He had a son named Thomas Gardner who was a Methodist Circuit riding Minister in the NC hills in the early 1800's. He married a Rebecca Wallace and they had several children. I have found numerous records on my gggggrandfather Junious Capheus Gardner (JC) b 1823 in GA,who was a prominent County Judge for 40 years in Gainesville Florida and died in 1894. He had a brother Thomas N. Gardner who lived in Brunswick GA and was also a County Judge and a Confederate Major in the Civil War. Another son was Dr. Richmond N. Gardner who lived outside of Tallahassee Florida and was a Captain in the Civil War, lost his arm in the Gettysburg Battle, prisoner of war at Johnson Island in OH for several years. There was another son JHM (could be James) Gardner and it appears he lived in and around Tallahassee Fl also and may have been a Dr. or that is what the 1860 census shows. I have a lot of information on everyone but JHM Gardner. I only have a census from 1860 on him. Some other surnames connected to these Gardners are Royster, Harvey, Cromartie, Fewell, Matheny and Zilman Holsten. I have looked at the messages on the Gardner Family Forum and don't see any of these particular Gardners, but maybe someone out there recognizes these names. You can e-mail me at email@example.com Thanks for any help you can provide, Sharon
