Gene. Its good to hear from you. Sounds like you have much more information than I do about the O'brien and Davenport families and I would enjoy learning more.
We have been struggling to put the Friend family details together and then became interested in learning more about the Davenports so one thing has let to the other.
My GGrandparents were from Ashland Kentucky. They were William Robert Friend and Sarah Rebecca Davenport, Lenora Emily's sister. Each had a number of brothers and sisters. My GGGGGrandfather was William Trotter Friend of Warren County, Ohio who has been impossible to trace since he was orphaned in Ohio at an early age, his parents thought to have been killed by indians about 1803.
I have been going through old family photos making positive image slides on 35mm film. Then these images are scanned by a film scanner producing some fairly good quality digital images which are then printed on my Epson Color printer. Of Course most of the images are black and white.
I am writing this from my laptop computer and will probably not be where the printer is located until next week. At that time I can print out some copies for you. I am sure I must have 8 or 9 images you might like plus a letter written by John Hulse Davenport to his brother Jim in Graham, Virginia if that sort of thing is of interest to you.
If you are interested in the digital images in jpeg format I can also send you copies of these in addition to prints though perhaps they would better be sent on a CD or 3 1/2 inch floppy disk. There is no problem sending them by e-mail except for the time it takes sending and receiving them. I have a dial up connection which is only 56k in speed so that method is slow at my end.
I can also send you a copy of the typed Geneaology information I have on the Davenports which you might look at for me and let me know where I might be off base if you don't mind. And you can add anything you feel is of interest about the O'briens or the Davenports I would enjoy learning.
I am sorry to hear of the terrible accident which caused Roberta's death. I have a photo of them on their farmhouse porch taken in July, 1934.
Gene, let me know how you want me to proceed from this point. And thanks for letting me hear from you.
