Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Jaimie:

My great, great grandmother was Margaretha Fix. Her father was Philipp Jacob Fix and her mother was Margaretha Philipps. Margaretha Fix was born April 9, 1810 in Aschbach, Bas-Rhin, Alsace. This is an area now in France which has been part of Germany off and on over the centuries.

You may want to check into the Philipps family as this is how I found that my Fix family tie was through this family tree.

A number of my Fix family settled in the Buffalo, New York area in the early to mid 1800s.
