The original source for the pedigree of Philip Ballard is the College of Arms who registered the pedigree in the Visitation of Nottinghamshire in 1614.

I am afraid that this pedigree has subsequently been embellished by a number of "researchers" who have incorrectly ascribed various events to members of the family without citing references or analysing the feasability of their hypotheses. I have spent nearly 30 years studying medieval Ballard pedigrees and can categorically state that not one shred of evidence has yet been found to support a line of descent in England let alone America.
