Dave:

Most interesting. According to my research, my James Sr. had a son John, b. 1806 in Penn Hills, Allegheny Co. PA, and other children David, James, William married to Ann Kennedy (no children), Terasa married to a Mr. Mattock with two daughters, and another daughter Mary married to Mr. R. B. O'Hara. I'm not sure exactly when James Sr. came to the US< but have a copy of his naturalization papers with the name spelled "Fitsimmons", dated 1803 in Chambersburg as stated previously. John had several children, anmong them were William, born 1851, my ggf, and George. George's side still resided in the Allegheny Co. area and spells the name with two "m's". Apparently, William officially changed it to "Fitzsimons" as he "thought it looked better. William married Narcissa Lenore Griffin, daughter of Edward Burns Griffin, a Methodist preacher. As far as I have discovered, James Sr. never mover from the Penn Hills area after settling there, and is buried in Penn Hills.

Tom
