William M Fitzsimmons obituary stated that he was born in Crawford County PA on 8/27/1821. He married Mariah Adams, daughter of James and Polly Adams,in 1847. She was born 11/2/1822 in Greenfield, Madison Co., OH. Three of their children were born OH and 4 in IA. The family story is that he did not have a good family situation and left home at about 16 years of age. He never associated with any other Fitzsimmons family member.
