According to Venna Lorraine Thain, of Hawaii, who has submitted information to the Latter Day Saints Pedigree Resource File and/or the International Genealogical Index, there was a Catherine FitzRandolph born circa 1667 in Massachusetts to Nathaniel FitzRandolph and his wife Mary (Holley or Holloway??). This Nathaniel was born circa 1642 to Edward and Elizabeth (Blossom) FitzRansolph and Nathaniel moved from MA to New Jersey (the area of Woodbridge, in Middlesex County). 1. Does anyone know if this information is accurate? Are there town records showing the birth of a Catherine FitzRandolph to Nathaniel and his wife in the area of Barnstable? 2. If there was actually a woman named Catherine FitzRandolph, does anyone know who she married? Where and when? I am developing a THEORY (needs more evidence) that this Catherine FitzRandolph might have married Matthew Giles as his first wife (and I believe her name might be spelled Katherine with a K in some records). This Matthew Giles was the son of another New Englander who relocated to New Jersey, one James Giles, and who settled in Piscataway area (near Bound Brook, Raritan River). Matthew and his wife Katherine/Catherine were likely married in early 1690, because their first child, Anne, was born January 30, 1690/91. Matthew's wife Katherine also had a son James (named for Matthew's father), but then died, and Matthew remarried, to Phoebe Hendricks, daughter of Jabez, in 1695. If anyone has information on the children of Nathaniel FitzRandolph, or on a possible daughter Katherine, and her marriage or other details, please contact me directly at duaneaboggs@hotmail.com.
