Hi,
Some, if not many, of the Licking County Fitzpatricks you list are "my people."My grandfather was Edward Fitzpatrick. He was born around 1890 in Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland on the family farm, named Lisdangan. He was one of 13 children of Timothy Fitzpatrick and Mary Ann Angland.Several of the sons of my grandfather's older brother David emigrated to Newark, Ohio in the early 1900's and are recorded in the Ellis Island database.(Their names are David and John.)They were probably going to join their own brothers, possibly Daniel and Timothy. It is likely that these Fitzpatricks were following an earlier generation of Newmarket Fitzpatricks who had previously emigrated --- possibly some of my grandfather's older brother's and perhaps brothers of my great-grandfather Timothy --- but we have no record of who started the Fitzpatrick base in Newark.
I am very interested in finding out who among these Fitzpatricks are "Newmarket Fitzpatricks" and thus attached somewhere to my family tree.
The information you posted sounded like clippings from old newspapers. Is that right? If so, I guess that's the whole extent of the information available(?).The naturalization dates are particularly important --- I suspect that they could be used to obtain naturalization records from the INS.Are there any more postings of naturalizations of Fitzpatricks in the Newark, OH area available?
Thanks very much for posting this information.
Ed Fitzpatrick
