i am of the Fetzner line from Untergrombach, Baden Germany. I go back to Johann Christoff Vesner (believe means cleaner of the church)b. 1653, who changed his name to Fetzner. I am from the lineage of his son Sebastian, Sebastians son Johann, Johann's son Laurentis, his son Franz Anton, his son Franz Anton, his son Franz Joseph and his daughter Rosina. My gr. grandfather is the illigitimate son of Rosina Fetzner and his name was changed to Fitzner at that time. I understand that this was the custom. Maybe this is one reason why so many variations of the name.
