William H. Thornton b c 1801 Caroline C., VA. Parents= Thomas Griffin Thornton b 11 June 1775 Caroline C.,VA, d 2 Nov 1830 while Sheriff of Caroline C.,VA, murdered while serving a writ. Was a noted fox hunter. Md 20 Oct 1795-96 Caroline C.,VA Ann Harrison Fitzhugh. Had 8 children.

Parents of T.G.Thornton= Anthony Thornton Jr b 15 Nov 1727 Ormesby, Caroline C.,VA/Susannah Fritzhugh. The Thornton line goes back several generations.

Access this info at website, enter William Thornton, country-US, state-KY, brings up his name & # of entries, click on his name, scroll to bottom of page, in "refine your search" enter Thomas Griffin Thornton in father box, click search. brings up several entries.
