I know that it's 8 years after you posted this email, but you may be interested to know that the Fitz-Henry/Fitzhenry DNA study is now up and running. Any male Fitz-Henry in your family can be tested and that may help answer your question "where did we come from?" by comparing your family DNA with that of other Fitz(-)Henrys from around the world.
