I don't know the names you mention but I have a William Fitzgibbon from Rathkeal in Limerick who married a Catherine Hogna in late 1700s and joined the army (Light Brigade). His son James was also in the army and his son William Hogan F (changed name to Charles). The family legend says that the Colleen Bawn (of a terrible sad end) was a serving maid to the family (the geography matches). Somewhere in the family was a Black Jack Hogan. No parish registers in that parish unfortunately so have got stuck working backwards.
