Don't know if this helps you at all, but there is a record of a Susan NOONAN marrying a John F. FITZGERALD in December 31, 1874 in Jackson county, Missouri. That's the entire entry, however, no parents mentioned. Also, in the 1880 census, there is John F. FITZGERALD, age 33, born Ireland, and wife Susan, age 25, born New York, with kids Josie, age 4, and daughter Mary E. age 2. Do you think this is them? I was not sure if the 1889 in your title referred to birth or death date of John F.
