Further research indicates that Henry H. Fitch and Wilson Fitch were brothers or half-brothers. They were the sons of Jane Fitch, daughter of William Daniel Fitch (d. 1814). The will of William Daniel Fitch mentions three grandchildren, children of his daughter Jane deceased. They were Wilson Fitch, Henry Fitch and Mary Thomas. Jane Fitch married Rodes Thomas on or about 6 Feb 1809. The census returns for Henry show that he was born in 1804 or 1805, or perhaps earlier. That explains his being bound out at age 10. His mother was dead and he was illegitimate. Her husband had no obligation to support Henry or Wilson, and they probably had lived with their grandfather. When the grandfather died, Henry was bound out. Wilson married Mary Ann Carver about 14 Jul 1825, and appears in the 1830 census as 20<30 with one son under 5. Have not found him after that. So the more specific question, besides where Wilson went and who were the children and descendants of Henry and Wilson, is who was the father of each? Notify Administrator about this message?
