It may have an impact but I not sure. Ladies can test MTDNA that is offered by Family Tree. If you have more questions you can contact me at my emial address. I will try to answer your question. YDNA is a test for male members that are in the direct line and this would apply to only male members. As I stated above ladies having members of thier families that were Fitts ancestors can take the MTDNA test.
