The parents of Johannes Feuz are incorrectly recorded as Peter Feuz and Margarith Ammeter in "The Ancestors and Descendants of Johnannas Feuz and Margaret Gertsch Feuz" by F. Richard Imboden, pages 2, 6, 30. This source also incorrectly includes a fourth son Peter (this Peter is a real person, but is from another family).
While conducting genealogical research overseas, Mr. Imboden apparently found a similar Feuz family with children Johannes, Christian, Heinrich and Margaritha, with similar dates in the correct location. To make this family work, he had to acknowledge a previously unknown son, Peter, and admit errors in information that was already available. As a result of this error, Mr. Imboden gathered data on numerous European ancestors that are incorrect.
This error was brought to my attention by another amateur Feuz genealogist and distant relative, Mr. Martin Feuz, who has shared sufficient supporting data.
It is not my intention to denigrate the work by Mr. Imboden in any way. He has done a tremendous amount of work and has gathered togethered an incredible amount of information that is otherwise not easily available.
The American descendants of this family have various spellings of the name FEUZ, including FITES, FEITZ, and FEUTZ.
