Hi Kim, I think that we may have corresponded before. As far as I know, there is no proof who was the parents of Gilbert Fite. He is not listed in Johannes Fite's will. Some think that he is because Elizabeth S. Fite in The Fite Family said that he was a son of Johannes. I don't think that he is the son of Peter Fite (Veit).

If someone has some more definite proof, would love to hear about it. I have a lot of information on his descendants, just not on his parents. He seemed to come from nowhere.
