I wish I knew. They, along with Jacob Fite (m. Margaret "Peggy" McCormick), James McCormick (b. 1778, whom I suspect married another of the elder Jacob Fite's daughters @ 1800--a daughter, Rachel Fite, having married James McClelland in 1801) and James' wife just disappeared before 1810. Three McCormick orphans were apprenticed in 1811 to craftsmen living in Millersburg, Kentucky. Peggy Fite with three children under 10 was also living in Millersburg in the 1810 census. The third McCormick sister, Elizabeth, who married William Burke, is said to have fled to Scioto County, Ohio, in order to escape Indian troubles.
