Apparently Margaret "Peggy" Fite's maiden name was Crose, not Cross. She and Leonard were heirs of Christopher Crose of Sussex Co., NJ who died abt. 1799. Leonard and Margaret, who were living in TN at the time, signed a "quit claim deed" in 1805 for their share of his estate.
The only other heirs mentioned in this estate settlement were children and grandchildren of Christopher Crose so it is assumed that Margaret would have been his child as well.
Other children of Christopher Crose were;
Jacob Crose,
Caty (Catherine) Crose who married Nicholas Kiser.
Christopher Crose, Jr., and
Elizabeth Crose who married Christopher Smith.
