I have Richard C. Fite b 1826 Mecklenburg Co NC who married Jane E. Caldwell. I found him in the 1860 Cass Co TX listed as R. C. with wife Jane, William b 1856,
A. (female) b 1858, F (female) b 1859. Then
I found, I think, the same Richard in Jackson Co AR, with only children Samuel b 1863 AR, Ada b 1866 AR and Alice b 1859 AR.
Wonder what happened to the other children?

I thought that he might be the son of David Fite b 1791 Lincoln Co NC and Frances Cathey. They had a son Robert C. b 1826 NC.

Appreciate any thoughts on these Fites.
