My grandfather, David Wallace Fite, was the last child of John Wallace Fite. David was born in 1862, unfortunately thereby missing the 1860 census, because his father, John, died in 1864. I cannot find anything that links David to John. There isn't even a death certificate for David, who died in 1915. David had siblings listed on the 1860 census: William, Maggie (I think), and Charles. Is anybody out there descended from one of them? I was thinking that maybe they belonged to a church in Gaston Co., and perhaps David might have been baptized. I looked up churches in the county, and there are a whole lot of them. Can anybody help me?
