Hi! My name is Tawny and my great-great-great grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Fite who was born in Higginsport (Brown County Ohio) in 1827. He was a farmer and furniture maker. In 1862 he volunteered as a soldier in the U.S. Army in the Civil War in Portsmouth, Ohio. Enlisted in Oct 14th, signed final papers on Dec. 20 1862 at Camp Dennison (Cincinnati). On Feb. 22, 1849, Benjamin Franklin Fite married Bathsheba Lawrence in Brown County. They had four boys: 1) John Benjamin Fite (12/11/1852-7/1932). He was my great-great grandfather. He married Sarah Ellen Havens in 1872 (her mother was a French woman, Mary DeBusk who married Joel Havens). They lived in Trinity, Ky for awhile then moved to a farm in Happy Hollow in Ribolt, Ky.(Where my grandmother, Ethelberta Fite, was born). There they had a big farm, saw mill, huge orchards, and raised their family of 12 children. One died very young named Charlie Fite. 3 girls-Hattie, Beulah, Jeanette and 9 boys-Charlie, Johnny, Finacy (my great grandfather), George, Thomas, Lewis, Joel, Jennings, Julius. 2) Aurelieus Fite. Married Adeline Himes and had 7 children. 3 girls-Marie, Opal, Lelia and 4 boys-McKinley, Leslie, Tom, Glenn. 3 )Joseph Fite. Married Lucinda Havens and had 3 children Williw, Myrtle, and Mildred. 4) George Fite. Married Eva Irvin and did not have any biological children, they did adopt a boy named Anthony "Tony" Grayson I hope this helps anyone who is interested and I hope I have connected with the correct family (info) that you were looking for.
