Hi Sandy,
My Fite ancestors went to Oklahoma first, then to Texas from Georgia, where they were born. I am descended from Henderson Wesley Fite married to Sarah Turner Denman. His daughter Laura "Annie" Fite was married to my grandfather, Richard Clyde Smalley. Do those names ring a bell? Some of Annie's brothers were doctors to the Cherokee Indians. One's name was Richard Lafayette Fite, another one was Francis Bartow Fite. They had another brother and sisters.
