I heard back from one man who sounded well informed, and had CD's for sale which included sources but I haven't purchased them. I am acquainted with the Healdsburg, CA area and I can document that 3 possibly four families in the Alexander valley knew each other prior to coming to the Healdsburg, CA area. It looks like more will be connected. So far I do not see a direct connection between these families, and Henry Delano Fitch (although they are related to other Fitch), but they appear to have been in the same areas. What I am really hoping to see is sourcing? Also why the source for a birth in New Haven Connecticut has been discounted? Did the family have any connection to New Haven? These other families appear to originate from a triangle of 20 miles around Yale and all went through Illinois.
I have found that the Bailhache family were related to an Illinois editor who covered Lincoln but have not made much progress on J. D. Grant. I suspect that the Fitch family and attorney Norton tried to sell propery to preferred friends and family. Sources?
