Henry Delano Fitch

A "Sonoma County Biography-Mrs. Josephine Bailhache" lists Henry Delano Fitch as being born in 1798 New Haven, Ct. His father had been in Nantucket and then later the family went to Charleston, MA. It appears that many of the early Dry Creek (Healdsburg) settlers derived their roots from a triangular area of New Haven, Middletown, and Haddam and were closely connected, including ties to other Fitch individuals. I see only one tree indicating New Haven, CT as his birthplace, although several have the same year. Why is this? What source is this based on?
