It sounds as if your information is from "Annals of Oxford," which states only "He was said to have been 96 years of age at the time of his death." No date is given. The death date of 18 Aug. 1807 at Oxford comes from Theodore E. Fitch, "Biography: Ephraim Fitch 1736-1807." (Ionia, NY: mss. provided by author, July 1994). I no longer have access to that manuscript, nor do I have an address for the author.
