Ok I found some more info that looks promising but it will need to be further researched before you can accept it as fact. Having said that your Lydia A. Fisk is likely the daughter of an unknown mother and Colonel Fisk of Windham, Ct. Colonel Fisk is his name not a title, he was the son of Benoni Fisk and Barbara Colvin. Both were born in Rhode Island but probably died in Vermont. In the 1900 census for Ida Sargent, wife of Charles G. Sargent, Ida states her mother was born in Rhode Island and that she and her father were born in Ct. In the 1850 Windham Co., Ct. census are found both Dyer F. Burnham and Lydia A. Fisk. They are not on the same pages but they are in the same county in Connecticut. Curiously, I found that even though Dyer and Lydia had married in 1856, by the time of the 1860 census, Dyer is living with his parents but not his wife or child. His 3 yr old daughter Ida Burnham, is living with the family of Daniel and Polly Farnham, also in Windham, Ct. I cannot find Lydia but do not believe she is dead as she appears to be alive in 1890 and was the one who applied for Dyer's Civil War pension. Notify Administrator about this message?
