My latest brick wall: I'm descended from Abram I. Bergen (04 Oct 1767 Sourland NJ (between Neshanic and Hillsborough) - 13 Apr 1826 Sourland NJ), and his 2d wife, Hannah Fisher (28 Feb 1772 Cranbury, Middlesex, New Jersey (supposedly) - 11 Sep 1849) Abram's 1st wife was Catherine Voorhees, who died 4 May 1792. The Bergen line is well documented in Bergen, Teunis G. (1876). “The Bergen Family; Or, The Descendants of Hans Hansen Bergen, One of the Early Settlers of New York and Brooklyn, L.I.” Albany, NY: Joel Munsell. and this is where the Hannah Fisher info comes from. Also stated there is that she is the daughter of a Jacob Fisher (mother unnamed/unknown). What is not given there and what I cannot find anywhere else--FamilySearch, Ancestry.com, genealogies in GoogleBooks, the Web at large--is anything further about Hannah or Jacob that fits with the data I have. No mother, no dates, no places, nothing. It just occurred to me: I wonder if she remarried after Abram died in 1826? She lived for another 23 years after that, and when he died their youngest 2 kids were aged 13 and 11. Seems likely now that I think about it. I'll investigate. In the meantime, does any of this connect for anyone? Thanks ... ~ k Notify Administrator about this message?
