That is interesting;I will tell you what I do know about my Fisher line.In the late 1700's and early 1800's I think they were in Kentucky.At least, on the earlier U.S. census,it claimsmy great-great grandfather, Jacob Fisher, and his brother David, were born there, and they were born around 1800, 1801.
My great-grandfather, (my dad's grandfather) knew some of the German language, but he certainly had little formal education, so we are assuming it was spoken some in the generation before him.
He told the family that all he knew of his ancestors, were that they were called the "Red Deutsch".(sp?)Whether or not this pertained to their complexion, I don't know, as for several generations they had ruddy skin and different shades of auburn and red hair.
I know nothing about Jacob's line, nor whom his parents were.
