I have information on the Fishburns in South Carolina.
I don't know how far back you are interested in. William
Fishburn had a plantation called Beach Hill in Colleton
County, SC. William Fishburn was in South Carolina by 1720
and is listed on a 1725 Census, taken by the Anglican Church, to be sent back to England, that was taken in St.
Georges Parrish. I have copies of the US census from 1790
if you are interested. Also if you go to www.FamilySearch.org. They have a searchable 1880 census
for the United States. Put in South Carolina and the last name Fishburn and there is also a place for race. That will give you all the Black and Mulatto Fishburns in South
Carolina in 1880; you may be able to trace from there.
